About Us
'A Wink and a Smile" a name that stuck with me when I was thinking about a name: a cheerful song and lovely concept. "Sleepless in Seattle" - one of my all time favourite films. My husband Mark came up with the addition ~ "Cards and Crafts" and voilà, here we are.
We have been involved in creating hand crafted items for years as a hobby for friends and family first but have been encouraged to branch out further and decided to set up our own business.
Our goal is to prepare something special that is personalised to specific requirements. We have our own family and know the joy that they get from receiving something that is unique to them, so we thought that you might like to share that warm glow too. We have prepared a number of cards and will build upon that to tailor a service to your needs, so if you have any suggestions - please feel free to let us know.
I draw upon my background for inspiration from sources as diverse as Venice / Italy , my home before I moved to England, to the rugged beauty of the moors of the Brontë stories, from the gothic atmosphere of Whitby's misty streets to the serenity of the gentle and peaceful coves of Cornwall.
'All these places have their moments' ...... almost got carried away by the Beatles then ... but what I mean to say is that 'all' of these experiences have shaped who I am; you never know when and where a new idea strikes again.
We are very excited about our adventure and are looking forward to the day when I can do this full time.
